Predictably, I am sad that you've only seen Two Hours Traffic the one time. Then again, they are the only band on that list I've seen (and while I haven't counted, it's upwards of a dozen, from their very first show in Halifax on).
ReplyDeleteI usually don't count festivals in my list unless I'm up nice and close to actually absorb the full set.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a few bands twice - The National (albeit both times at Pitchfork), Broken Social Scene, The Wrens (including an awesome/random $5 show at Northwestern University with student bands opening - but only have seen one band thrice. Hint: It rhymes with Mapandroids.
Bands on my whiteboard I haven't seen that you have: Crystal Castles, Dan Deacon, Girl Talk, Daft Punk (very slim chance I'll ever seen the latter). Also on said list: The Arcade Fire (preferably in a venue and not a fest), No Age, Pavement (out of curiosity, mostly), Fuck Buttons, and LCD Soundsystem.
ReplyDeleteDan Deacon and Daft Punk were two of the best shows I ever attended, with Crystal Castles up near the top too. Girl Talk was less amazing because it was at Pitchfork, that one year when he played the side stage and it was so crammed that you couldn't move your arms and the Fire Department threatened to shut it down. LCD was in my two-times section. Also very enjoyable live.
ReplyDeleteI think "artists i still need to see live" will be an entry on here at some point.
